Why am I doing a Kickstarter Campaign?
I wanted to do something special. I absolutely love the idea of a collector's edition, so the purpose of using Kickstarter is:
- Produce an exclusive signed hardback Special Edition with a dust jacket and sprayed edges, and pay for the printing of special edition hardbacks in advance, so I can sign them and send them to Backers. These signed hardbacks are exclusive to the Kickstarter.
- Provide Early Access to the ebook and paperback, so readers can enjoy the thrill of solving the case a month before it's available exclusive to Amazon.
- Provide special Bundle deals as Add-Ons which are not available on the main book retailers and support me, the author directly.
- Provide readers a limited number of Character Naming Rights which can be backed at the top reward level.
Why this book?
In 2023 I wrote the Opal Fields series. They were so successful, I’ve written full-time ever since. The books were born from an outback trip I did many years before.
The red dirt, authentic atmosphere and quirky characters stuck with me.
The area is the perfect setting for crime and thriller stories….
Remote, barren, with a transient population hoping to strike it rich, or simply hide away from their past. The deep, dark secrets, the small town community, the history of unfortunate deaths and unsolved murders, all played a part in choosing the location.
